LIVING God
I know I'm late about writing about this stuff, but I wanted to write about the message I heard in the conference on Sunday. Sometimes, (I don't even know why), I have my doubts about God. I realize it's because I surrounded myself with earthly things, that it started to make them the first thoughts in my head instead of the last thoughts in my head. Whenever this happens, I like to just repeat to myself that "God send his only son Jesus to die on the cross" or "God loves me" or "God can do anything". Then I put a huge grin on my face (which, sadly, doesn't last long..) and believe those words. When Abe said that God is the true living God, I realized that he made a good point. I mean, all the other leaders and "gods" that people put out there in the world are false and they are not living. Also, wasn't Christianity the first religion in the world? I mean I think so, because we know that the Word and the Bible is true. According to the Bible, God created the heavens and the earth. Then God created man and woman. Didn't Adam and Eve believe in God before they sinned? Didn't they have two (three later on) children that mostly believed in the word? This is just what I'm thinking, it might be wrong.
I kind of have my own "bible student." She's in Korea right now, and she's my cousin (Actually my niece who is like 15 years older than me). We have a strong relationship, and she really wants to go to America and is always thinking about America and missing the people here. She went to church here, but she didn't really go to church the first couple of months after returning back to Korea. We lost connection for a month or two. She was finding a job and moving to Seoul. Then we got back in touch and I made a deal with her to go to church every Sunday and then I will study Korean during my vacation and breaks. At first, it was hard for her but I think she is slowly turning to God. She asked me questions like,"Rebekah...how do you have a connection and feel God?". She is listening to christian music (I mean..I think so..haha) and she is currently going to church everyday, is what she says. I hope she finds God living in her heart and I hope I found the living God in my heart without distractions of this Earth. We are in this world, not of this world.

ReplyDeleteRebekah, I am so encouraged by you!!! I love how you deeply consider and mull over your faith :) Your cousin/niece is so lucky to have you to encourage her and talk with her! You're truly an example of 1 Timothy 4:12 :)
